Andrew Ragas is one of the fastest rising fishing celebrities and educators in the Midwest. He is seen on TV, heard on radio and internet podcasts, is a public speaker who presents seminars and hosts "Bass Class", and is read in periodicals that includes Midwest Outdoors Magazine and other web publications.
He is the owner of Northwoods Bass Fishing Adventures, LLC, the only specialty fishing guide service in Wisconsin that exclusively fishes inland lakes for bass. His trips, scheduled from May through October, emphasize seminar learning and high-technical strategies with the goal to educate, promote, and conserve the resource, while helping his clients have fun and achieve success. Big bass is his passion, but he pursues multi-species as well with muskies and big panfish being his secondary favorites.
Ragas wants to let you know that he grew up as a walleye angler during his youth in the 1990’s, when walleye populations were very strong and healthy in the Minocqua area. In the 2000’s, northern Wisconsin’s bass fisheries were expanding. Quietly, bass fishing became a passion.
Andrew’s Northwoods Bass website is a treasure trove of angling information with an extensive library of articles. He also publishes a timely monthly newsletter to keep his readers, followers, and customers up to date on the latest action.
Uniquely, Ragas also has a desk job like everyone else, but one that allows him to work year-round in between all the fishing he does. He is a self-employed small business owner, specializing in website design, web marketing, and web management solutions (https://www.ragasmedia.com). Working from his desk and remotely, he works on website design projects with clients of all industries throughout the country that includes outdoor brands, corporations, television shows and media entities, healthcare, professional services, and more. He is a 2010 graduate of Loyola University Chicago where he studied communication and media, and graphic design. He is also a Loyola Ramblers basketball super-fan. He gets more TV time during nationally-televised basketball games than on fishing television programs.
He splits time between living in Illinois with his wife Amanda, and fishing in Wisconsin where he is fortunate to be able to be out on the water over 100+ days per year for both leisure and guiding responsibilities.
