How to Tie the “RP Knot”

A buddy once showed me how to tie this knot in 2017, and it’s been my go-to for braid to fluoro / mono attachments ever since. I’ve also shown others in my boat how to tie it as well.

Here’s a walk-thru of my daily knot for connecting braid-to-leader. Quick how-to and basic fundamentals for tying @Cortland Line Company Masterbraid with Fluorocarbon.

With its low profile, the clean and thin knot smoothly passes through ALL @stcroixrods guides without getting caught or tangled…. and even better, without lures or rod guides breaking off. The RP (Royal Polaris) can be learned quickly, and is done in lesser steps than other more complex knots.
