The smallmouth bass fisheries of Forest County are the poster-children and blueprints for modern day smallmouth bass management on Northern Wisconsin's inland lakes. Featuring management programs which began in the 1980's and 1990's, implementing spring catch and release and 18 and over trophy rules, these select lakes are amongst the healthiest, some of the most pressured, and most popular smallmouth fisheries in all of inland Wisconsin.
Despite being located the furthest away from all the lakes and regions we fish, we occasionally accept requests to fish these waters with guests, and to personally get a change in scenery for a full day of fishing from sunrise to sunset. Due to 1+ hour distance from Minocqua, I will only fish Forest County waters on dates you have booked full day trips. Add a $100 time and fuel surcharge to rate if requesting a guided bass trip on any Forest county waters.
Not as heavily populated by lakes as the other counties are, the waters of Forest County are within the borders of the Nicolet National Forest. Quality wilderness fishing experiences among the woods and nature of Wisconsin is sure to be available on these larger waters that are managed and maintained for catch & release trophy angling.
