Northwoods Bass Fishing Adventures, LLC specializes in trophy bass fishing on the inland lakes of Northern Wisconsin. Based in Minocqua, WI, we offer unique specialty fishing trips such as trophy hunts, numbers days, technique-specific workshops, lake-learn sessions, wilderness adventures, plus more. We are the only Wisconsin bass fishing guide service and information resource of its kind.
We can schedule guests for half days, full days, and sometimes strenuous 12+ hour long days if physically capable and up for it. Your fishing trip is catered to the type of fishing experience you’d like assuming our lakes and the day's weather and conditions allow for it to succeed. If not, I will let you know the morning of. On full day trips we are proponents of lake hopping – meaning fishing multiple lakes per day in order to maximize productivity, stay on bites, and best time management. On half days, we only fish local waters in the Minocqua area in order to minimize travel time.
Never forget that fishing is fun. I preach open-mindedness and positive attitude to all guests who fish with me - stubbornness and negativity not allowed. My boat is a very social and entertaining atmosphere. And we also like to listen to a variety of SiriusXM radio programs as we fish.
Despite my high standards, I also keep expectations realistic, as not every day will be as good as a weekend fishing TV show. Some days of fishing are better than others. Each lake also contains more or less fish than the other, or smaller or bigger fish than the other. We can't control the wind and weather, or force feed bass into biting. But day in and day out, we take what the fish give us and we put ourselves in positions and situations to succeed.
In order to maintain an environment for comfortable fishing and ample deck space, and a hands-on seminar style lesson, and limited seating, we can host only up to 2 anglers at a time. Two anglers get to enjoy the large and spacious front casting deck, while I navigate and control the boat from the back deck. Please note my vessel has a strict passenger weight capacity (700 pounds) that we must follow.
Besides focusing on smallmouth bass, we also incorporate largemouth bass and multi-species fishing too. Our fishing schedules for all species frequently revolves around peak seasons, fish abundance, and conditions. During periods of smallmouth "off-activity" such as spring coldfronts, spawn, dog days of summer, and fall turnover, we often suggest fishing for largemouths as outstanding fisheries are present throughout the Minocqua-Woodruff area, and their bites can be much better. The Minocqua chain and many of its surrounding waters is considered to be Wisconsin's largemouth bass capitol. The few trophy fisheries that are present are underutilized and underappreciated resources. We catch and release all trophy largemouth bass!
On trip days when bass are poor, we turn to multi-species and mixed bag pursuits to entertain us. Muskies, walleyes, and pike can each happen any day.
